      Our prayer;

       All: “O God,

            you turn the world upside down.

            Small wonder, we, like Nicodemus,

            come to you at night,

            afraid to be seen with you-

            clinging to our old life,

            yet longing for a new life.

                O God, we are afraid,

                afraid of what this new life might be,

                afraid to give up what is comfortable and familiar.

                Be with us in our fear…

                        …silent prayer.

                Grant us grace. Amen.”                                  God’s assurance of forgiveness and love.
