“God, whose almighty word chaos and darkness heard,

       Invitation to Confession

    Prayer of Confession:

All: “Source of Life, we confess we come to the journey

             of discipleship ill-prepared.

We come to the desert not trusting that you will

             lead us.

Too often we rebel against authority – unless the

power is in our own hands.

Too often we think only of ourselves, and what we

             think we need.

We walk past the stranger with hunger in their eyes.

We have forgotten what you have called us to do.

Forgive us when we don’t act in faith and when we

              follow other paths.

              Make us your trusted servants.

                       …silent prayer.

              Grant us grace. Amen.”
